(3/4) My friend finally came up from baggage claim and had told me that no bags came, and the staff member we were speaking to downstairs told us that our luggage was probably already on its way to Chicago. Note that he never asked for our names or our baggage claim ticket. We bought a plane ticket on Icelandair for the next afternoon, found an ACE Guesthouse to stay at, paid for another cab, and left with our carry-ons with nothing useful for overnight because of the first encounter at the check-in counter where we weren't able to properly remove our chosen belongings from our suitcases. The next morning after I woke up and as soon as I knew our original flight had landed, I tried to call O'Hare to confirm that our bags had indeed made it to Chicago. I was not able to get ahold of anyone that could help. When we got to the airport, 4.5 hours early, we checked in and went straight to baggage claim to double check where our bags were. We were not leaving Iceland until we were 100% sure of where our belongings were. Lo and behold, it's the same employee that was working in the baggage claim area the day before. He remembered us, and told us that he had good news and bad news. The good news was that they found our bags, the bad news was that was our bags were on their way to Boston. Boston? BOSTON?! He said they went to Boston because if there were bags left here, it was mandatory that they get sent as fast as they could to the country they are scheduled to arrive at, no matter what airport. That location happened to be Boston. We have NO idea why this was the case, when they knew that we had missed our flight and were still in Iceland. Isn't it mandatory that luggage stay with the owner? We wanted to call Boston to make sure that our bags were there, and to have them sent to Chicago so that they were in Chicago when we arrived later that day. He told us that there was nothing that we could do, that we would have to wait until we get to Chicago, file a claim, and then they would have our bags sent to us a day or so later. Note again, that he never asked for our names or our bag claim number. Begrudgingly, we left him, even more furious, and waited for our next flight. Meanwhile, I tried to get ahold of anyone from O'Hare – no luck. I tried to get ahold of anyone from Boston – no luck. Finally, I decided to call WOW Customer Service. I explained the situation to her, and told her that it was absolutely necessary to know where my bags were, and to know that they would be waiting for me in Chicago when I arrived, also questioning WHY protocol called for our bags being sent to Boston. She asked for the claim number, and told me the last time the bags were scanned was in Iceland. They were at the airport. I told her this was impossible, because I spoke to the same person the day before and today, and he said our bags were not at this airport. She insisted that they were.

(4/4) At this point, a few hours had gone by, and we were running short on time. With AN HOUR left until our DEPARTURE TIME, we went back to baggage claim and told the same employee that WOW had told us our bags were scanned in here. He seemed confused, and said he was not sure how this could be possible. My friend spotted her bag behind him, and pointed it out. He seemed shocked. I didn't see my bag anywhere, and asked him where it was, and he said that maybe it got swapped out with someone else's, because he didn't see it. My friend asked him to please check the back for my suitcase. Sure enough, it was there. CLEARLY, this employee had no idea what he was doing. He gave us misinformation numerous times. If we had not been so persistent, we never would have known that our bags were still at KEF in Iceland. HOW WOULD WE HAVE GOTTEN OUR BAGS TO CHICAGO??????????? If I had listened to the guy and trusted him, we would have landed in Chicago, filed a claim, and seen that there were NO bags in Chicago, and NO bags in Boston. Our belongings would have been stuck in Iceland. We then had hardly any time to go back to the check-in counter and check our bags. We waited in another line, checked our bags, and ran to our gate. Every other KEF staff member that we tried to speak to was very short and rude, unhelpful, and in a hurry to get us out of the way. Even when we tried to find someone at a kiosk, there was no one there working the kiosk. Nearly every employee at KEF had lied to my face, and did not care that I needed help. If I had not been lied to about information regarding notifications, flights, baggage, etc. on numerous accounts, I know for a FACT that I would have made sure I made my flight. This experience is absolutely unacceptable. The incapable, rude, and dishonest airport staff and unaccommodating airlines costed us an extra $1,000 each. It also cost us the couple hundred dollars we would have made at work the next day. I will never fly WOW again. I will never fly to or through Keflavik International Airport again. I will never recommend WOW. I will never recommend KEF. This left such a bad taste in my mouth that I don't really ever want to go to Iceland again. And I know my friend feels the same way.

No frills budget carrier, mostly exactly as I expected.

If you overbuy luggage allowance, there is no way to undo it, even within 24 hours. I made a mistake, thinking I needed to purchase more luggage, recognized my mistake right away, and still ended up paying for luggage allowance I didn't need.

Flight was delayed over 8 hours!!! Flyers were not given accurate updates of flight. Flight time kept extending and extending! We were given a 5 euro voucher after 3 hours of being stuck at the airport. Ridiculous! Tight seats and so uncomfortable once we boarded. The air craft was extremely hot and we lingered after boarding for another 2 hours. Longest flight ever experienced. I'll never fly Ryanair again.

Flight EWR to London: delayed by 4 hours because of plane mechanical difficulties Flight London to EWR: unannounced stopover in Reykjavik (on what was supposed to be a direct flight) for fueling because the plane we were scheduled on had mechanical difficulties so they put us a plane too small to make it across the Atlantic. One passenger complained and they made him deplane. Would not fly Primera again. Aside from safety concerns, there are no screens, dirty bathrooms, even no free drinking water....

Tiny plane for transatlantic (A321). Flight is 2 hours longer than other airlines. NO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM! You’ll be climbing the walls with boredom. They only do one beverage service and don’t even offer water. Disgruntled flight crew. The money you save in the fare will cost you in your sanity.

We missed our connection because our flight was delayed by an hour. When we arrived in Keflavik, we were directed to the service counter and they got us on a different flight departing in 5 min. We hurried to through passport control and ran to the gate. We boarded the plane and realized they sat us in first class. What a treat. To our surprise, all of our checked bags made it through as well. Icelandair is officially out new favorite airline!

I absolutely hate traveling on this airline and with all the hidden charges realize that they are NOT as budget as one would expect. In this day and age how can one human being pass food or beverage under your nose to the passenger sitting next to you and not have the common courtesy to inquire if you are hungry? It seems odd to serve the "haves" while the "have nots" look on in hunger, the latter group even including children. Surely the better business model and or approach would be an inclusive one. When comparing the additional costs to travel its is far cheaper to take an option whereby luggage and food are included and you are not charged ridiculous amounts for, lets face it microwave meals. The PR for this company is misleading as it does not let the consumer know that this a LOW LOW budget airline and that traditional allowances on long haul flights have been totally obliterated!!!! I have travelled with Norwegian Airlines a total of 3 return flights and have finally had enough, they are an only option at times otherwise the extra 100 dollars for another airline is a pleasure to pay.

Our flight was suppose to be at 5:10pm. It was cancelled around 10-11pm. Thankfully they were considerate of the fact that I had an infant and found accommodation for us until the next morning, but they were telling passengers at 1am to figure out where to stay until the next flight. Oo and although we knew the flight was cancelled the hassle of getting our bags and going through customs again we didn’t get to our hotel until 2:45am. Most of the staff seemed rude , but that could be because their answer for everything was a sharp “I don’t know”. I can only remember two names of the staff members that were great and put me slightly at ease during this horrible ordeal. Sandy and Suzie were kind and tried to give the best answers they could to the passengers. The flight back was on a Privilege aircraft though Norwegian. The flight attendants were amazing and much more leg room than the newer Norwegian aircraft.

Very disappointed in my first longhaul flight on Norwegian Air. Check in staff at Boston was snarly, the food was very average, and the leg room in economy was the least I've ever experienced on an international flight. I am 5 foot three and I do not understand how anyone even a few inches taller than me would not be in imminent danger of developing a blood clot. Horrible. This is a Dreamliner? I only had nightmares.

The price was great.

There was a 5 hour delay and I was not notified by Norweigan via email or text, even AFTER CALLING AND REQUESTING that they notify me. No drinks were served-not even WATER to those that did not pay for a meal plan. This is unacceptable and possibly illegal. Awful experience.

Wamos Air was great. The inflight entertainment was limited, but I was served two meals (and didn't have to pay a $45 fee like on Norwegian Air), with wine, a real bonus.

Norwegian customer service at JFK stinks. I had to wait in a very long line even though I printed out my boarding pass, and on top of that, they made me check my carry on bag for $65 because the total all of my carry on items were slightly over weight, not just my suitcase.

The process was non-existent. Simply terrible and not thought through at all. First there is no on-line check in. So, you arrive without a seat assignment or boarding pass. Stress. Then you go to the small handful of kiosks and find that only a couple are working. So you wait in line. Then you get your boarding pass and walk to the security checkpoint as you do with every...other...airline..ever. You wait on line and watch countless people being turned away from the security person. You wonder why out loud and surmise with the passengers around you - but we’ve all flow. Hundreds of times before, and we all have our boarding passes and no checked bags. So, you think youre ok. Stress. Then when it’s your turn, you get rejected because you have to have a “stamp”. What stamp? I scanned my passport at the kiosk and I have a “known passenger” number. what stamp? Go back to the counter and wait on a loooong slow line. They want to weigh our bags. Why? They are all small carry-ons. We’ve all done this a thousand times. Nope - Norwegein weighs your TOTAL carry on and it all has to be less than 10kg. 10 kilograms! So, one by one, EVERY passenger is instantly angry and gets hit with a $65 fee per bag and all carry ons get checked. Stress and now we will be late upon our arrival as we didn’t anticipate checked luggage. After having your luggage weighed and deemed too heavy, you have to go wait on the “payment line” to pay your $65 fee. This is a joy - everyone is pissed. The staff is smirking and repeating, “don’t stress” over and over. After you pay your fee, you have to get BACK ON LINE to show the bag guy that you paid and then he put your bag on the conveyer. only, your bag is in a pile of all the other bag behind the counter. So he holds up each bag and says, “this one?” Farking nuts. Then you go and get BACK ON LINE to go through security. Then the gate....that’s a whole other debacle. 250 people crowded around the gate person. Literally hell. LOOK AT THE OTHER AIRLINES AROUND YOU. COPY THEM. Oh, no food or drinks on the plane unless you know the secret handshake. We realized this when the food cart and drink cart each passed us by. Mind you, this was t just our group. Every passenger around us has the same stress filled confused experience and we all spoke about it. Never, ever again. Pay the extra $100 and fly a proper airline.

Iceland Air personnel were super accommodating, in Seattle on the ground and in he air.

Swissport personnel in Europe were awful. Bags were delayed in Amsterdam for over an hour after landing. Check in at Brussels was also an hour long queue. Boarding in the terminal in Iceland was very disorganized.

No entertainment, but that’s how they keep costs low. Seating was not incredibly clean.

Leg room fine, comfortable seats, plenty of overhead space, and not overly crowded

Boarded nearly 4 hours late at 2:30 am. That’s a terrible time to leave for a transatlantic flight, especially after I arrived at the airport at 7:30pm, and it took 1.5 hours to check a bag and go through security. EWR is a horrible airport for congestion!

Plans were over an hour late both ways with no reason why or communication from anyone. Actually had an entirely different plane on return trip which caused seating problems. We paid for a seat which we didn't get.

Price for the flight was nice from NYC - JFK to London for me. Useful to have budget airlines for further distances, if you don't mind missing large chunks of basic amenities. Bathrooms on this flight were more clean and nicer than most flights I've been on too.

I did not like the extremely long and inefficient way they board onto planes. They say they are starting to board and then we waited over 20 minutes just to hear who was going to board first. Then they ask for rows 18-28, leaving out the rows 29-36 or something like that, which created an extremely long and late boarding process. Once they started boarding people it was a giant mess in the waiting area and of course, once people have their ticket scanned, then you continue to wait in a long line past the kiosk for another 10 minutes. Getting Food, drink, and even the Customs Form was really inefficient -- the person with the forms walked quickly down the aisle and missed me because he was looking at the other side and not checking with each aisle like most flight attendents would. I ended up getting my customs form taking it from the drink cart when it was sticking out.

The price is low, but not worth the horrendous seating.

Very tight seating. There is almost no legroom and the seats are very narrow. They nickel and dime you for everything. Its hard to even get water. Entertainment choices are pretty weak.

Boarding was well done.

Nice new plane seemed very spacious until the "herd" arrived then it seemed more crowded than I had expected. Staff was a it rigid, and NOTHING - and I do mean NOTHING is provided unless soupy for it. Well you can use the restroom. My sense is that Norwegian wants to pull you in with low prices- then somehow tries to get you to pay enormous amounts for food or services because you are a captive audience. So I am not impressed and would have to say that other airlines are better. I think with a proper strategy you can make Norwegian Air work.

The flight was smooth and on time. The crew was competent.

For the second time my luggage was missing on arrival at Baltimore too. Didn't receive it until seven days after arrival.

No frills budget carrier, mostly exactly as I expected.

If you overbuy luggage allowance, there is no way to undo it, even within 24 hours. I made a mistake, thinking I needed to purchase more luggage, recognized my mistake right away, and still ended up paying for luggage allowance I didn't need.

Flight EWR to London: delayed by 4 hours because of plane mechanical difficulties Flight London to EWR: unannounced stopover in Reykjavik (on what was supposed to be a direct flight) for fueling because the plane we were scheduled on had mechanical difficulties so they put us a plane too small to make it across the Atlantic. One passenger complained and they made him deplane. Would not fly Primera again. Aside from safety concerns, there are no screens, dirty bathrooms, even no free drinking water....

We missed our connection because our flight was delayed by an hour. When we arrived in Keflavik, we were directed to the service counter and they got us on a different flight departing in 5 min. We hurried to through passport control and ran to the gate. We boarded the plane and realized they sat us in first class. What a treat. To our surprise, all of our checked bags made it through as well. Icelandair is officially out new favorite airline!

Delays in boarding. Ticket was bought 8 months ago with seat selected but when checking in found I was put on standby and had to wait until everyone else boarded. Assistance at gate to try and get seat assignment very poor as I was simply told to wait. On flight from Iceland to Portland the gate did not even start boarding until close to official departure time and plane left about 30 minutes late. Result I barely made my last connection in Portland but my luggage did not arrive because maybe customs checking took too long.

Comfortable seats (787), more-or-less on-time service.

Probably the unhappiest check-in and flight crew I've flown with. Makes me wonder what Norwegian does to its employees. Be advised that they weigh your carry-on bags, and you may be forced to check them. Basically, add $60 to your ticket price to account for round trip bag fees.

Nothing notably. One would assume price but it wasn’t particularly different than non budget airlines. I didn’t know Norwegian was a budget airline until I got to my destination and was complaining about how bad my traveling experience was and they told me it wasn’t because Norwegian is a budget airline.

I had a backpack and duffel back for an 8 day trip overseas. I get this is a budget airline but Ryan Air works because the sacrifices make sense given the distances they travel aren’t hours. Shoving people on a flight like that with tight space, no food, no entertainment and charging me $65 for a duffel bag that you force me to check because I’m carrying 11 kilos in two small bags? Pass. Costing $50 less is far from worth it and I regret not opting for british or pretty much any other airline.
